Skim Spot Characteristics

The San Sebo Sider/Wedge... This spot produces classic skimboarding waves weather your after wedge/sidewash action or a really bowley front wave - this spot has them both!

This is probably the most fun location I have found in this area of France/Spain - the waves as so easy to reach and ride either ront waves or sidewash waves... If you go here and the sidewash is working you will not be dissapointed.

For this place to work you are looking for either a 2 meter / 7ft plus swell from the north or bigger if it's coming from a westerley direction (it's got wrap round into the bay) and any sort of southerly wind. For tides you want something above a 80% coefficients (so nearing spring) and this place should work a couple of hours either side of high tide and during high too..

NB the basque name for San Sebastian is Donastia.

You can't see this spot from the road whilst driving... Best to park at the west end of San Sebo next to the sea wall and swimming pools, then walk back up to the tunnel through the hill - the sider is just in front of the tunnel. If your checking it from the pavement - don't foget you're very high up - the waves will look bigger when you're on the beach!
