Les Bouilassiers Liner, Oleron - France

Latest spot photos

Skim Spot Characteristics

This set of waves resides on the french island of Oleron. French sea defences have engineered the perfect skimboarding wave incorparating both liner shaped points and shorey waves at the end of the liner.

Coupled with a very large tidal range these waves work off very little swell as any swell going will be pushed in on the strong spring tides.

The major downside to this seemingly perfect setup are the large ammount of board destroying boulders that seem to lurk just below the water.

The spot get's it's name from the Boskim/Sandskater trip in 2006 when during six days the spot was infested with thousands of the blood sucking critters.

Access

Tucked away on the far north of the isalnd of Oleron at a town called Les Boulassires next door to La Bree les Bains.

Not a huge amount of sand covering the reef for the liner at the moment - enough to skim but also mame your board.
